In Idaho, the Idaho Department of Transporation (ITD) oversees all of the state's driver and vehicle services. The service will differ depending on your needs.
To pay vehicle registrations please come in to the DMV from
8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 501 N Maple. We accept cash, checks,
credit, debit and money orders.
You can avoid the lines by utilizing the online website services provided the Idaho Transportation Department located at:
https://itd.idaho.gov/itddmv/
Please bring the following with you:
* For renewals, bring your plate number or
renewal notice or ID card
* For new purchased vehicles, bring an Application
Certificate of Title (pink paper) that the dealer provides
for you.
* For private sales, bring the signed Title and Bill of Sale
* For businesses, an EIN or Sales Tax ID filed with the
Idaho State Tax Commission
IMPORTANT: All vehicles coming from out of state need a Vin Inspection. Vin Inspections are done by the Bingham County Assessors Office.

Commercial Vehicles: Use the Full Fee Vehicle Registration Renewal
The following plate types cannot be renewed online: Expired registrations (has to be current), Boats, Classic, Dealer, Exempt, Legislative, Loaner, Off-Road, Old Timer, Repossession, Salvage, Snowmobiles and Transporter.
